2017 Training Groups

Back in November, before the concrete floors were even poured here in the store, a group of 8 marathon runners trusted Fleet Feet Myrtle Beach coaches to train them for the 2017 Myrtle Beach Marathon.  Over 20 weeks our team met three times a week,  through long runs and speed work, in the dark and the daylight,  in below freezing temps and high humidity.  Through all of it, our team truly committed to the training program and gave nothing short of 100% .   In January, we added our first beginner 5K training program, and the participants were equally as hard working and committed.  

We are incredibly proud to say that every single one of our participants crossed their goal finish lines! We had many first timers, a bunch of personal bests, and even a Boston Qualifying time among our marathon team.  Needless to say Team Fleet Feet Myrtle Beach is off to a smashing start.  But even more importantly, we've become a family over the course of the last 5 months.  |

 

But the fun has just begun, and we are excited to announce more training groups for the 2017 season!   We are offering both a beginner and advanced 5K training program for the spring, with the goal race of the Sunset Beach 5K, a part of Coastal Race Production's BAM! series.  The program will begin on Tuesday, March 21st, and will continue until race day, May 20th, 2017.  If you are interested in learning more, please visit our training page.

Looking forward into the year, we will have a half marathon training group for both the 2017 Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon (13.1 miles) as well as the Kiawah Island Half Marathon.  And lastly, we'll have a group training for the Kiawah Island full marathon.  Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for announcements on these training group start dates.   In the meantime, if you have any training questions about these races or any others, feel free to email our head coach at heather@fleetfeetmyrtlebeach.com
