Training

This training group is designed to help runners and run/walkers successfully complete the 2017 Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon (13.1 miles). This 15 week program will safely train beginners for their first half marathon, or help experienced runners improve upon their previous half marathon time. The program is led by a Level 1 RRCA Certified Coach with over 30 years running experience. The training plan provided will include speed and hill workout sessions, long runs, tempo runs, cross training and strength training suggestions, and of course the guidance to understand what these all mean! Participants will receive unlimited access to their coach throughout the duration of the program. Participants will also receive Team Fleet Feet Myrtle Beach racing shirts or singlets. Program begins on December 12th, 2017 and will conclude with the Myrtle Beach Half Marathon on March 3, 2017. Note: race entry fee is not included in the training program fee

To be successful in our half marathon training, you must be able to run 3-5 miles without struggling and must have completed a 5K within the past 3 months.

Program Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm, Saturday mornings at 6:00 am
Goal Race: Myrtle Beach Full Marathon
Program Fee: $125 excluding race fee
Description: This training group is designed to help runners and run/walkers successfully complete the 2018 Myrtle Beach Marathon (26.2 miles). This 20 week program will safely train beginners for their first full marathon, or help experienced runners improve upon their previous marathon time. The program is led and designed by a certified exercise physiologist, RRCA certified coaches, and experienced distance runners. The training plan provided will include speed and hill workout sessions, long runs, tempo runs, cross training and strength training suggestions, and of course the guidance to understand what these all mean! Participants will receive unlimited access to their coaches throughout the duration of the program. Participants will also receive Team Fleet Feet Myrtle Beach racing shirts or singlets. Program begins on October 17, 2017 and will conclude with the Myrtle BEach Marathon on March 3rd, 2018. Note: race entry fee is not included in the training program fee. To be successful in our marathon training program, you must be able to run or run/walk 6 miles without struggling, and must have completed a half marathon in the past.

2018 Myrtle Beach Marathon 5K More Info »

Program Start: Jan 2, 2018
Program Schedule: The group will meet Tuesday at 6:30pm and Saturday at 8:00 am
Goal Race: Myrtle Beach Marathon 5K
Program Fee: $50. This fee does not include race entry fee.
Description: This program focuses on beginners looking to complete their first 5K. The program is structured to help you achieve the goal of completing a 5k by walking, walk / run intervals or running. Along the way we'll provide you with motivation to keep you moving, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. Plus, you'll have the camaraderie of others just like you! The Program meets twice a week during the training period. Each session will last about an hour to an hour and a half depending on workout prescribed.
