Training

Our training programs are designed to help both runners looking to participate in their first race and runners looking to improve their times!  All programs are led by a Level 1 RRCA certified coach with over 30 years of experience and assisted by mentors who have experience with our programs.  Training plans will be provided based upon the desired race as well as clinics during those programs to help with all aspects of preparing for a race.  Our training runs will be group runs that meet multiple times a week to help build consistency, accountability, and camaraderie amongst our group members.  These are the perfect opportunities to get moving and meet more people looking to accomplish 

Note: race entry fee is not included in the training program fee

To be successful in our 5K Finish training programs, you must be able to walk a mile without struggling.

To be successful in our 5K Fast training programs, you must be able to run a mile without struggling and have completed a 5K in the past 6 months.

To be successful in our half marathon training programs, you must be able to run 3-5 miles without struggling and must have completed a 5K within the past 3 months.

To be successful in our marathon training programs, you must be able to run 8 without struggling and must have completed a half marathon in the past 6 months.

2018 Holden Beach Half Marathon More Info »

Program Start: Tuesday July 3, 2018
Program Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm, Saturday mornings at 6:00 am
Goal Race: Holden Beach Half Marathon - Half Marathon
Program Fee: $100 does not include race entry fee
Description: This training group is designed to help runners and run/walkers successfully complete the 2018 Holden Beach Half Marathon (13.1 miles). This 11 week program will safely train beginners for their first half marathon, or help experienced runners improve upon their previous half marathon time. The program is led and designed by a RRCA Level 1 Coach with over 30 years running experience. The training plan provided will include speed and hill workout sessions, long runs, tempo runs, cross training and strength training suggestions, and of course the guidance to understand what these all mean! Participants will receive unlimited access to their coach throughout the duration of the program. Participants will also receive Team Fleet Feet Myrtle Beach racing shirts or singlets. Program begins on July 3, 2018 and will conclude with the Holden Beach Half Marathon on September 15, 2018. Note: race entry fee is not included in the training program fee but participants will be offered a discounted entry fee.

Coastal 5K Training Program More Info »

Program Start: August 27, 2018
Program Schedule: Monday and Wednesday Evenings - 6:30 PM, Saturday Mornings - 8:00 AM
Goal Race: Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon Coastal 5K
Program Fee: $60
Description: This is a beginner 5K (3.1 miles) training program designed for people who are currently inactive or new to running and walking. While the Finish 5K program focuses on beginners, all levels of walkers and runners are welcome. The program is structured to help you cross the finish line in just 8 weeks! Our target race will be the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon Coastal 5K on October 20, 2018.

Program Start: Monday August 6, 2018 6:30 pm. Informational meeting will be held on Wednesday August 2, 2018 at 6:30 pm.
Program Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm, Saturday mornings at 7:00 am
Goal Race: Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon
Program Fee: $105 This does not include Race Registration.
Description: This training group is designed to help runners and run/walkers successfully complete the 2018 Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon (13.1 miles). This 12 week program will safely train beginners for their first half marathon, or help experienced runners improve upon their previous half marathon time. The program is led and designed by a certified exercise physiologist and experienced distance runners. The training plan provided will include speed and hill workout sessions, long runs, tempo runs, cross training and strength training suggestions, and of course the guidance to understand what these all mean! Participants will receive unlimited access to their coaches throughout the duration of the program. Participants will also receive Team Fleet Feet Myrtle Beach racing shirts or singlets, as well as a Milestone Pod to help track workouts, and help the coaches monitor various running metrics of each participant. Program begins on August 6, 2018 and will conclude with the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon on October 21, 2018. Note: race entry fee is not included in the training program fee
