Training

Our training programs are designed to help both runners looking to participate in their first race and runners looking to improve their times!  All programs are led by a Level 1 RRCA certified coach with years of experience and assisted by mentors who have experience with our programs.  Training plans will be provided based upon the desired race as well as clinics during those programs to help with all aspects of preparing for a race.  Our training runs will be group runs that meet multiple times a week to help build consistency, accountability and camaraderie amongst our group members.  These are the perfect opportunities to get moving and meet more people looking to accomplish similar goals!

Note: race entry fee is not included in the training program fee

To be successful in our 5K Finish training programs, you must be able to walk a mile without struggling.

To be successful in our 5K Fast training programs, you must be able to run a mile without struggling and have completed a 5K in the past 6 months.

To be successful in our half marathon training programs, you must be able to run 3-5 miles without struggling and must have completed a 5K within the past 3 months.

To be successful in our marathon training programs, you must be able to run 8 without struggling and must have completed a half marathon in the past 6 months.

Into the New Year! 5K - Finish Training Group More Info »

Program Start: November 12th, 2018
Program Schedule: Wednesday evening 6:30 pm, Saturday morning 8:00 am
Goal Race: Grand Strand Running Club Prediction Run 5K (1/1), Race into the New Year 5K (12/30)
Program Fee: $50
Description: This program focuses on those who would like to complete their first 5K, are returning to walking and/or running after an injury or lay-off or just prefer a lower keyed approach to training. The program is structured to help you build confidence and endurance to enable you to cross the finish line smiling. Along the way we'll provide you with motivation to keep you moving, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear and avoiding injury. Plus, you'll have the camaraderie of others just like you!

Fleet Feet MB Winter Half Marathon Training Group More Info »

Program Start: Monday, November 12th 2018
Program Schedule: Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 6 a.m.
Goal Race: Myrtle Beach Half Marathon (3/2) or Oak Island Half Marathon (2/16)
Program Fee: $105 This does not include Race Registration.
Description: This training group is designed to help runners and run/walkers successfully complete the 2019 Myrtle Beach Marathon Half marathon or Oak Island Half marathon (13.1 miles). This 16 week program will safely train beginners for their first half marathon, or help experienced runners improve upon their previous half marathon time. The program is led and designed by a RRCA Certified coach and experienced distance runners. The training plan provided will include speed and hill workout sessions, long runs, tempo runs, cross training and strength training suggestions, and of course the guidance to understand what these all mean! Participants will receive unlimited access to their coaches throughout the duration of the program. Participants will also receive Team Fleet Feet Myrtle Beach racing shirts. Program begins on November 12th, 2018 and will conclude with the Myrtle Beach Marathon Half marathon on March 2nd, 2019 or Oak Island Half Marathon, February 16th.. Note: Race entry fee is not included in the training program fee.

Fleet Feet MB Winter Full Marathon Training Group More Info »

Program Start: Monday, November 12th 2018
Program Schedule: Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, Saturday mornings at 6:00 am
Goal Race: Myrtle Beach Marathon (3/2) or Oak Island Marathon (2/16)
Program Fee: $120 excluding race fee
Description: This training group is designed to help runners and run/walkers successfully complete the 2019 Myrtle Beach Marathon or Oak Island Marathon (26.2 miles). This 16 week program will safely train beginners for their first full marathon, or help experienced runners improve upon their previous marathon time. The program is led and designed by a RRCA certified coach and experienced distance runners. The training plan provided will include speed and hill workout sessions, long runs, tempo runs, cross training and strength training suggestions, and of course the guidance to understand what these all mean! Participants will receive unlimited access to their coaches throughout the duration of the program. Participants will also receive Team Fleet Feet Myrtle Beach racing shirts or singlets. Program begins on November 12th, 2018 and will conclude with the Myrtle Beach Marathon on March 2nd, 2019 or Oak Island Marathon on February 16th, 2019. Note: Race entry fee is not included in the training program fee. To be successful in our marathon training program, you must be able to run or run/walk 6 miles without struggling, and must have completed a half marathon in the past.
